Q. What can I do to keep gophers from feasting on my garlic bulbs underground?
A. If you have serious gopher problems, building raised beds is the best
solution. You can gopher-proof your beds by stretching 4-foot-wide
1/2-inch-mesh aviary wire across the bottom of each raised bed box. Staple the mesh in place, and be careful not to cut it accidentally when digging up your bulbs.

A. Try calling your local Gopher control service-They have a giant-truck mounted Super Vacuum that will suck them up for relocation. This isn't supposed to cause them any harm.

A. Get a hungry dog.

Pests: rodents...
* To deter rodents from chewing on your bulbs, you can line the planting hole with 1/2- to 1-inch diameter chicken wire, or get a bunch of hungry cats!
